This week on Top 10 Tuesday we are presented with a scenario: Someone hands you a fully loaded gift card to Amazon/Barnes & Noble/your bookstore of choice. What books do you immediately buy?
As some of you may know I live in the Caribbean and in my country $1 US dollar is worth almost $7. When it comes to buying books YA paperbacks can range anywhere from $50 (approximately $8 USD) to to $90 ($14 USD) and hardcovers start at $120 ($18 USD) so money is a huge factor for me as to which books I can buy and when.
So this week that’s all out of the window. I have all the money and can buy what I want. I’ve been waiting for this day for the past two and a half years.
Black Iris by Elliot Wake (formerly Leah Raeder)
Horns by Joe Hill
YOU by Caroline Kepnes
Vicious by V.E. Schwab

You’re much luckier than I am, one US dollar is 1000 VZLA Bolivares. I bought a shirt and pants last week and they were over 13,000 and it was a sale!

RIP. People in the US were so confused when I told them it was like $60 for a tshirt. They would look at me like I was on crack

Preach man. Things feel so expensive here and then I think about it and I’m like, I’m spending 5 dollars, even though it’s a third of my paycheck
