Friday Reads

I’ve been having brain farts in terms of coming up with content this past week (I blame the Florida atmosphere). To remedy that I’ll be doing a simple #FridayReads post today.

My current read is This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab which I’m reading this month with Sara and Abby. Although I don’t know if you can call reading one chapter since Monday actively reading it.

Kate Harker wants to be as ruthless as her father. After five years and six boarding schools, she’s finally going home to prove that she can be.

August Flynn wants to be human. But he isn’t. He’s a monster, one that can steal souls with a song. He’s one of the three most powerful monsters in a city overrun with them. His own father’s secret weapon.

Their city is divided.

Their city is crumbling.

Kate and August are the only two who see both sides, the only two who could do something.

But how do you decide to be a hero or a villain when it’s hard to tell which is which?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m loving TSS so far. I’m just getting distracted by other things (I bought a new 3DS and the Yokai Watch game and that’s a major distraction) and pools. I read the first 115 pages (25%) of the book within a day while lying on the swinging couch in my aunt’s backyard. It was perfect. I do intend to have TSS finished before the end of the month though.

After reading TSS, I have a few options of what to read next. Unfortunately, due to luggage restrictions, I had to send most of the books I bought home separately. Fortunately, I kept A Gathering of Shadows (Schwab) and Ten Thousand Skies Above You (Gray) on hand. Either one will be a great read. I just have to choose one.
