Earlier this week Entertainment Weekly revealed the cover of the concluding novel to Victoria Schwab’s Shades of Magic trilogy. The series follows two characters, a cross dressing pirate and a magician, as they become involved with a magical artifact that threatens the peace across the dimensions.
After reading her The Archived series (twice), Schwab has become one of my go to authors for creative fantasy premises and interesting characters. When news of this series reached my screen I was instantly sold by the history, alternate dimensions and cross dressing. And I wasn’t disappointed.
I’ve had the second book in the series, A Gathering of Shadows, since release but unfortunately, I haven’t had the time to read it yet. As such I’m avoiding the synopsis for the final novel but I implore those of you who have to scroll down and appreciate it and the cover for this final chapter in the Shades of Magic trilogy — A Conjuring of Light.
Londons fall and kingdoms rise while darkness sweeps the Maresh Empire, and the fraught balance of magic blossoms into dangerous territory while heroes struggle. The direct sequel to A Gathering of Shadows, and the final book in the Shades of Magic epic fantasy series, A Conjuring of Light sees the newly minted New York Times bestselling author V. E. Schwab reach a thrilling conclusion concerning the fate of beloved protagonists–and old foes. (Source: Goodreads)
