Cover Reveal: The Black Key by Amy Ewing

Imagine my surprise when I sleepily check Twitter this afternoon and find that Epic Reads has revealed the cover to Amy Ewing’s newest release and one of my most anticipated books of 2016, The Black Key. I have been craving this book since I read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of The White Rose way back in February last year.

In case you were wondering what I’m referring to, Ewing’s The Lone City trilogy is set in a dystopian society where young girls are born into society’s poorest district with peculiar abilities known as the Auguries. They are then taken from their homes, trained and sold to the barren nobility to act as their surrogates. It sounds a little weird, I know, but it’s a really interesting and empowering series.

If you’re curious as to my thoughts on both books that are currently out, The Jewel, and its sequel, The White Rose, feel free to click on the covers below for my full review of each.

The conclusion to the trilogy, The Black Key, is set to release on October 4th, 2016. The cover and more information are shown below:

For too long, Violet and the people of the outer circles of the Lone City have lived a life of servitude, controlled and manipulated by the royalty of the Jewel. But now, the secret society known as the Black Key is preparing to seize power and knock down the walls dividing each circle.

And while Violet knows she is at the center of this rebellion, she has a more personal stake in it—for her sister, Hazel, has been taken by the Duchess of the Lake. Now, after fighting so hard to escape the Jewel, Violet must do everything in her power to return to save not only Hazel, but the future of the Lone City.

In this thrilling conclusion to the Lone City trilogy, Amy Ewing pits Violet’s family loyalty against her dedication to overthrowing a destructive and terrifying regime. This is an explosively compelling story that readers won’t be able to put down. (Source: EpicReads)
