Favorites of Apr – Jun 2015

The year is half over and I’m a healthy mix of excited and anxious for the remaining months. I noticed very early on this year that quite a few of my most anticipated releases (sequels, debuts, etc) come out around the fall. Luckily I will be in the US this fall so I will be pre-ordering all the things!

Just like my recap of January to March I will quickly recap each of those months:

April Wrap Up — 8 books

May Wrap Up — 10 books

June Wrap Up — 10 books

Total books read: 28

#5 The White Rose by Amy Ewing

TheWhiteRose

I was lucky enough to secure an ARC of TWR and I jumped on it right away. I can’t say much about this but have no fear. My full review is already written and scheduled for publishing closer to the release date. Fans of The Jewel will love The White Rose.

#4 The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo

ShadowandBone Siege and Storm RuinandRising

finally read this series in May and now I see what all the hype was about. While I have my little nitpicks at the series I thoroughly enjoyed it and am eagerly awaiting the release of The Six of Crows in October.

#3 Simon VS the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

Simon vs the Homo Sapien's Agenda

SIMON was one of my most anticipated books of the year and it didn’t disappoint. I pre-ordered it from Book Depository and when I got it, I read it in a day. It’s definitely up there with Aristotle and Dante as one of my favorite books ever.

#2 A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab

ADSOM

I’m one of those people who hasn’t read Vicious (gasp!). Yes, I know!! Because of that ADSOM was my first look at what Ms Schwab can do with adult fiction. In case you didn’t know, I really liked this book. It was the first book I read in April and I’ve been slowly working on a review ever since. Knowing me, that probably won’t be out before AGOS. Just sayin’.

#1 Saga by Brian Vaughn and Fiona Staples

Saga1 Saga2 Saga3

Since I was late to this party as usual, I won’t say much more. You probably already know why.
